Research Associate

We are looking for dedicated and detail-oriented Research Associates to join our Service Departments and Biobank Team. While our Research Departments focus on executing projects for our customers, the Biobank team is responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and characterization of our Organoid Biobank.
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our biobank collection or executing projects, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the drug discovery pipeline for our customers.

Scope of position:
As a Research Associate in our various Service Departments or Biobank Team, you will be responsible for culturing organoids derived from different epithelial tissues, while ensuring their quality to facilitate smooth experiments. Your duties will include conducting experiments related to organoid development, maintenance, and characterization. You will work hands-on in the laboratory, execute experiments, and analyze data to contribute to the success of ongoing and new projects for our biotech and pharmaceutical clients. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, and data analysis.
What will you do?
- Expand and maintain organoid cultures in accordance with HUB’s quality standards.
- Establish new organoid culture models from primary tissues.
- Collaborate with a team of Research Associates and Scientists to execute projects for HUB customers, utilizing organoid platforms to enhance their drug development pipelines.
- Execute various techniques and assays using organoids, including viability screenings, quantitative PCR (qPCR), histology, and Western blotting.
- Analyze and report the results of experiments, presenting findings during internal and external meetings.
- Adhere to the guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Lab Manuals (LMs), lab journals, and study protocols.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Troubleshoot experimental issues and provide solutions to improve workflows.
- Prioritize activities in line with project deadlines and milestones related to commercial services or company milestones.
What will you bring?
- Bachelor (HLO) degree in Life Sciences, and having 2+ years practical experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry is a plus
- MLO degree or equivalent with 5+ years in non-academic organizations.
- Proficiency in cell culture, experience with organoid models is a big plus.
- Experience with at least one of the following laboratory techniques: (q)PCR, ELISA/HTRF, FACS and histology
- Energetic and problem-solve attitude, increasing lab capabilities to support business growth and reach commercial milestones.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a team environment and are committed to delivering quality results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility to occasionally work in weekend and evenings when required,
- Strong communication skills (in English), both written and verbal.
