Lab Coordinator
HUB Organoids is looking for a Lab Coordinator to join our Lab Management team. As a Lab Coordinator, you will play a key role in daily operations of the HUB labs. With our team we ensure the smooth running of the lab by supporting day-to-day activities, maintaining organized workflows, and troubleshooting any challenges that arise.
Scope of position:
As Lab Coordinator you play a key role in ensuring the upkeep, efficiency, quality and safety of the laboratories at HUB. In this diverse position you will be directly involved in various operational workflows. These include, but are not limited to, purchasing and procurement processes, equipment and reagent management, laboratory safety initiatives, and quality-related procedures. In this role you will be of essential support in daily lab operations.
What will you do?
- Oversee and continuously improve purchasing workflows, including inventory evaluation and cost analysis, with a strong focus on increasing efficiency and reducing expenses.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and documented. Develop and maintain equipment maintenance procedures.
- Serve as the first point of contact for designated laboratory equipment, including troubleshoot issues, coordinate repairs, and provide user training as needed.
- Develop, review, and implement standardized procedures for daily lab operation, for example, cleaning of facilities and chemical inventory.
- Organize and optimize laboratory spaces to maintain a clean, safe and proper organized working environment.
- Initiate and manage quality processes within your scope of responsibility, to ensure ongoing improvement and compliance.
- Jump in to support the team during high-demand periods—you may need to prepare reagents in the lab, handle daily ordering activities, or other operational tasks as needed.
What will you bring?
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) or equivalent in the field of Life Sciences.
- You have minimum 2-3 year experience in working in a (biomedical) laboratory environment, are familiar with laboratory practices and safety standards.
- You have experience in writing (laboratory) procedures, and their implementation, preferably in a commercial and/or certified environment.
- You can work independently or in a team, have strong communication skills and are easily accessible to internal colleagues.
- Experience with AFAS stock management is a strong pre.
- You are able to handle multiple requests from different organizational levels.
- You are flexible and adaptable, so you can handle changing priorities and tasks.
- You are proficient in English (written and verbal).
