HUB Organoids, part of the Life Science business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, is a global leader in patient-derived organoid technology. Our mission is to reduce drug attrition and decipher human disease complexity through custom solutions, empowering biopharma scientists to advance drug discovery and development. We specialize in creating "mini-organs in a dish" from both healthy and diseased tissues to predict patient responses to treatments.
We’re seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Global Communication and EventManager to lead the development and delivery of our internal and external communication strategies and global events portfolio. This role is pivotal in enhancing our global brand presence, fostering strategic relationships, and orchestrating world-class events that spotlight our scientific leadership.
The ideal candidate combines creativity, strategic insight, and flawless execution—capable of crafting compelling narratives, building media and stakeholder engagement, and executing seamless, high-impact events on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Content Development
- Create and oversee the development of high-quality, compelling and scientifically accurate event content including presentations, press releases, signage and other external communications.
- Collaborate across teams to craft clear, consistent and impactful messaging for diverse audiences.
- Ensure consistency in visual identity, messaging and tone across all communication and event touchpoints.
External Communications
- Develop and execute communication strategies to enhance HUB Organoids' visibility and reputation globally.
- Manage relationships with media outlets, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure global communication is aligned with business goals and brand positioning.
Global Event Management
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of global events -including tradeshows, scientific conferences, partner summits, webinars and virtual activations.
- Ensure event alignment with marketing strategies, messaging, and business objectives.
- Coordinate logistics, including vendor management, travel, accommodations, and on-site execution.
Speaker Invitation and stakeholder engagement
- Identify and engage high-profile speakers, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and industry experts for participation in HUB Organoids’ events.
- Manage speaker communications, scheduling, presentations, and logistics to ensure seamless delivery.
Event Logistics
- Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, travel arrangements, and on-site coordination.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality experiences.
- Track expenses and provide detailed post-event financial reports.
Post-Event Evaluation
- Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Track event ROI, engagement metrics and communication performance.
- Provide actionable insights to optimize future initiatives.
Industry Trends and Emerging Technologies
- Stay ahead of communication and event trends, and emerging technologies in the field of life sciences to enhance event experiences.
- Introduce new formats and experience that elevate brand impact and audience engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field. (Advanced degree in Life Sciences or similar is a strong advantage)
- 5-7 years of experience in global communications and event management, ideally in biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
- Demonstrated success in leading international, large-scale events and strategic communication campaigns.
- Strong project management skills with attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific topics into clear and engaging narratives.
- Experience working with digital event platforms, contnt management tools, and CRM systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the flexibility to traven internationally as required
